A just transition in urban transport focuses on the need to make changes that reduce carbon emissions but at the same time combat existing inequalities. To meet the challenges of climate change justly, we must take into account the impacts on urban transport workers’ security and welfare, on the communities who depend on urban transport, and involve unions in ensuring workers experiences, views and demands are represented in the process.
