And now the search is on for attendees for this year’s summer school, being held in July in Washington, which will specifically focus on young workers, those under the age of 35.
The emphasis will be on supplying training in practical skills that can be used to strengthen unions like campaigning, communications, mobilisation, intelligence sharing and strategy building.
ITF youth coordinator Ingo Marowsky said: “The youth summer school isn’t just about turning up. We’re looking for real engagement from participants both when they’re in Washington and afterwards.
“Having a network is one thing, but we want the ITF youth network to be active around the issues that really matter to transport workers. These people are the future of the ITF yes, but they’re also the present.”
