IAM Delta lands in London

أخبار

Delta cabin crew are calling for a voice in their workplace; the company is fiercely anti-union. The ITF’s cabin crew unions are backing them in their global campaign.

Speaking from last night's London meeting, ITF civil aviation section secretary Gabriel Mocho explained: “This is the second IAM Delta event in which we've participated. We are eager to welcome Delta ground staff and cabin crew into the global union community.”

Also meeting the activists and Delta workers was ITF acting general secretary Steve Cotton, who stated that Delta is the largest anti-union airline in the US and in the global aviation industry. He promised that airline workers everywhere will benefit when Delta employees are unionised.

Meanwhile, dozens of Delta cabin crew on layover signed election authorisation cards at IAM visibility events far away from Delta management’s intimidating eyes. Unionised flight attendants from American Airlines, Air France and Iberia Regional also stopped by to offer their support and encouragement.

IAM General Vice President Sito Pantoja explained that Delta has a history of surveilling their employees who are interested in unions, and that holding these unannounced card-signing events outside the USA has proven very successful in letting them freely express their views.
