IDC-ITF JOINT STATEMENT – Liverpool, 25 September 2015

Actualités Communiqué de presse

The meeting discussed the increased attacks upon Dockworkers globally from port owners and ship-owners, as well as industry problems, such as outsourcing and over-capacity that threaten members’ job security and conditions. At the same time, constant attacks against dockworkers’ collective rights all over the world are creating social tensions in many countries.

Both organisations agreed to consult affiliates over working closer together to resolve internal differences and develop joint initiatives on issues, such as automation, lashing and raising global awareness of these attacks amongst dockworkers with a view to launching coordinated actions in defence of dockworkers’ rights.
