We are a single voice of solidarity for all transport workers, standing up for rights, equality and justice, leveraging the collective strength of 740 transport workers’ unions to win a better world.

We believe in a world underpinned by social and economic justice; where all workers are treated equally – with dignity and respect; where everyone can work in a safe environment free from fear and discrimination; and where every worker is paid a wage that recognises their crucial role in society as the drivers of our economic wealth and prosperity.

OUR STRATEGY

ITF's ambitious work programme, agreed at our 44th Congress in Singapore in 2018, is pushing the envelope for worker-driven change using our three strategic directions to win meaningful change in pursuit of our vision.
 

OUR STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS

  • Growing and activating membership across transport unions to continue to strengthen our global movement and exercise our power across the supply chain and all modes of transport.
  • Leading and supporting innovative campaigns, together with our affiliated unions, to leverage our collective strength to shift power from capital to workers.
  • Influencing and developing global and regional policy that makes the future of work, transport and the global economy fair and sustainable.

As the world's collective voice of transport workers, we are focussed on the big issues that affect the lives and livelihoods of all transport workers. We are taking action to tackle the challenges we face, and proactively shaping our future.

OUR GOVERNANCE

ITF is democratically governed by our affiliated unions. Our Constitution lays out our principles, rules, regulations and the way we work.

Congress – our highest decision-making body – brings together all our members every five years to set our priorities and to elect our Executive Board to govern the organisation between Congresses.

The Executive Board is comprised of elected leadership from affiliated unions around the world, representing regions, industrial sections and equalities’ departments.
