ITF Americas goes digital

news

The ITF today launched a brand new regional conference website for its forthcoming Latin America and Caribbean conference – the last regional conference in the run-up to congress 2014.

The website follows on from the success of the ground-breaking ITF Arab World and Africa web sites at regional conferences earlier this year, and the ITF Asia Pacific regional web site in 2012.

As with the other conferences, activists in the Latin America and Caribbean region who are unable to attend the conference in person will be able to follow and feed into discussions through the website.

The website is a key tool for activists and unions seeking to participate in ITF life. The discussions at each regional conference will be used to inform the Congress theme document – the overarching workplan which will shape the direction of the ITF over the next four years.

ITF Americas regional secretary Antonio Rodriguez Fritz said: “The Americas regional conference is the most important ITF event in the region. We want our affiliates to participate – debate the work programme, share your experiences and issues, and strengthen transport workers’ trade union in the region. Transport workers who cannot come will, for the very first time, have the opportunity to participate remotely by sending their comments to the website. You have a voice, and we want to hear it!”
