The ITF (International Transport Workers’ Federation) today described the refusal of shore leave to seafarers on board Hanjin ships in the USA as a denial of human rights – and praised the actions of dockers in Seattle who have drawn the problem to public attention.

The ITF and its member the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) are spearheading a drive to defend the rights and livelihoods of the country’s dockers.
