6 May 2013: Union of Hong Kong Dockers call an end to 40 day strike

news Press Release

The ITF has been informed by ITF affiliate, the Union of Hong Kong Dockers (UHKD), that they have called an end to strike action which commenced on 28 March.

Members of UHKD decided today, to accept a wage offer by contractors Everbest, Comcheung, Lem Wing and Pui Kee. We understand the offer also includes the contractors’ promise to further negotiate arrangements with HongKong International Terminals (HIT) to provide meal and toilet breaks, and also non-retaliation against workers who have participated in the strike.

An official statement will follow.
