HIAS seemed for Jews who met U.S. It was at that time that HIAS
broadened its mission, Since that time, the organization has
continued to supply help for refugees of all nationalities, religions, and ethnic origins.
HIAS functioned in Shanghai till 1950, serving to refugees who
had escaped eastward from Nazi-occupied Europe to immigrate to Australia, the Americas, and
Europe. HIAS offices functioned in Hoechst, Frankfurt, Munich, Foehrenwald, Stuttgart, Berlin,
Bremen, Hanover, Regensburg, Baden-Baden, Vienna, Linz, and Salzburg,
with HIAS representatives stationed in the camps themselves.
At French focus camps, such as the notorious Gurs, many of those children were officially allowed by the Nazis to leave but required to leave their dad and mom within the camps.
Acquiring documents required for emigration was troublesome
as throughout the war folks had fled from one place to a different, escaped
from focus camps to hide in villages and forests, then reappeared under assumed names.
Following the Conflict of 1812, European settlers came in rising numbers.
In 1968, HIAS came to assistance from Czechoslovakia's Jews after the suppression of the "Prague Spring", and to Poland's Jews after Communist Occasion factions began an inner
combat utilizing an anti-mental and anti-Semitic marketing campaign, whose actual goal was to
weaken the professional-reform liberal party faction and assault other circles (1968 Polish political crisis).
