Landmark study points to way ahead on container port health and safety

An independent study being published today is hoped to pave the way for significant improvements in the health, safety and welfare of workers in the global container port industry. Commissioned by IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) and the ITF (International Transport Workers’ Federation) and carried out by Cardiff University, the landmark report is the only one of its kind ever undertaken to such an exhaustive level.

Joint statement by the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) and UNI Global Union on the outcome of the complaint to the German National Contact Point for the OECD Multinational Guidelines about the conduct of DP-DHL

The ITF, UNI and DP-DHL have today agreed to a protocol, which commits them to continued dialogue on employment and industrial relations. The parties will meet four times a year and attempt to resolve issues in a mutually acceptable manner to avoid future problems.
